Employers must protect apprentices and trainees

WorkSafe is taking a tough enforcement approach to preventing catastrophic falls from height. Dozens of construction businesses are facing potential legal action in 2025.

Eighteen matters related to falls are the subject of investigation. Another 21 businesses have received formal written warning letters.

We have an agreement with WorkSafe to share information and work together.

We support the WorkSafe enforcement approach and will protect apprentices and trainees in industries with greater risk of falls.

Based on information from WorkSafe, we have cancelled the approval of several construction and manufacturing employers who put apprentices or trainees at risk.
